The IREM program is designed to prepare you for a variety of real estate related tasks. This includes managing your own accounts receivable, paying rent, collecting utility bills, handling and organizing lease payments, performing routine accounting tasks, keeping records of tax returns and insurance, and more.
The first part of the exam covers the topics covered in the introductory chapters of the IREM program. The second part of the exam focuses on the application of IREM concepts into practical situations. You are required to perform a wide range of complex tasks such as comparing monthly figures for the current year to previous years, and comparing the current value of your personal property with the estimated value of your personal property based upon recent market trends.
The final part of the exam is devoted to the topics covered in the rest of the IREM course. Topics covered include the theory portion of the course, including the basic theory behind property and finance; developing your theoretical skills through practice exercises; developing your practical skills by completing real world projects, using your theoretical skills in your practice exercises; and evaluating your theoretical skills against your actual practical skills. After you pass the exam you will be given a certification certificate.
Because this course has been developed by a third party organization, it is not available to students who are not members of the IREM. If you have already signed up with the IREM, you should be able to complete the exam online through their website.
The exam is divided into multiple-choice section and multiple choice section. In the multiple-choice section, you will be presented with multiple options that have to be made based on a pre-determined format and multiple-choice format. Each option is presented in a different color or outline style, which will make choosing them easier. In the multiple choice section, your job will be to choose which answer is best based upon how the options to fit your knowledge and skills and the context in which they are presented.
The multiple choice questions on the CPM certification exam are constructed to challenge both the theory and practical skills you have already acquired through IREM courses. The multiple choice sections can be completed in approximately twenty minutes. The multiple choice portion of the exam is designed to present a detailed overview of what is covered on the IREM exam. In addition to the multiple choice questions, you will also be required to read a document that explains IREM and provides a description of what you have learned in the course.
By passing the exam you will earn a certificate of completion that includes information about your knowledge, the time you took to study for the exam, and how the test was prepared for you. The certificate is then valid for two years.
